What is a stairlift?

A stairlift in action

A stairlift is a useful, reliable and easy to use mobility aid for people who struggle to walk up and down the stairs. Stairlifts come in a variety of different models, ranging from those for curved indoor staircases, to those for straight outdoor stairs.

Stairlifts can be used by anyone, including those with mobility issues or those who are disabled. Stairlifts make the climb to the top and bottom of the stairs easier, faster but most importantly, safer for everyone that chooses to use it.

Stairlifts can also be referred to as stair-lifts, chair lifts, superglide, stair gliders and many more. However, this type of chair lift should not be confused with the chairlift used by skiers.
