Should I buy or rent a stairlift?

Many people worry about spending large amounts of money unnecessarily. However, be assured that when buying a stairlift rather than renting one, you are certainly not wasting money; far from it.

Despite everyone’s perception that renting a stairlift would save them money, it most probably wouldn’t in the long run. Renting a stairlift would cost less than buying one if the user only needed it for approximately 3 months. However, any longer than that and you will end up spending more on renting a stairlift than if you had simply bought one.

Therefore, buying a stairlift instead of renting one has the benefit of saving you a significant amount of money.

Other benefits of buying a stairlift over renting one include:

  • Buying a stairlift doesn’t involve agreeing to a fixed term or contract. When renting a stair lift, this fixed term could result in you paying a lot more money than you have to.
  • If you do not need the stairlift anymore, you can make some money by selling it, whereas you simply return a rented stairlift with no benefits for yourself.
  • You will be purchasing a new stairlift, meaning it will definitely be in good condition.
  • Although rented stairlifts will have been serviced before they are given to you, the people servicing them did not manufacture the stair lift themselves, resulting in them not having the in-depth knowledge that comes with buying a stairlift.
